What's it like to live in Whitestone Ranch?
If you've driven US 377 south of central Benbrook, you've passed Whitestone Ranch: an established neighborhood inside Benbrook city limits, built from 2001 to 2013 alongside Whitestone Golf Club. Homes are mostly mid-size, about 1,750 to 3,300 square feet.
It's a settled place now. The trees have had twenty-some years to grow, and nobody's pouring a slab next door. You also get an actual Benbrook address, which is less common than you'd think in a ZIP code shared with Fort Worth.
Where is Whitestone Ranch?
South of central Benbrook along US 377 (Benbrook Boulevard), heading toward Granbury. The neighborhood sits alongside Whitestone Golf Club, whose clubhouse address is 10650 Highway 377 South. You'll see it called Whitestone, Whitestone Ranch, and sometimes just "the golf course neighborhood." Nearby sections with Whitestone in the name, like Whitestone Heights or Hills of Whitestone, are separate subdivisions, so check which one a listing is actually in.
I-20 is a few minutes north on 377, with Loop 820 and downtown Fort Worth beyond that. The Bella Communities are a few miles farther southwest on the same highway.
Is the Whitestone golf course still open?
Yes. Whitestone Golf Club is an operating public course as of fall 2026, taking tee times through its website. It opened in May 2000 as an 18-hole layout designed by Jeff Brauer and Jay Morrish. In 2013, Star-Telegram readers named it best public golf course.
It's public, not a private club. You don't need a membership to play, and living next to it doesn't come with one. For homes on the course, that means views of open fairway without club dues. It also means golfers and carts behind the house, plus the occasional ball in your yard. If you're looking at a lot on the course, stand in the backyard during a busy morning and see how it feels.
What does Benbrook city limits mean for owners?
You're a Benbrook resident, with Benbrook's police and fire departments and city services. You also pay Benbrook's city property tax. The city's property tax page lists a rate of 55.50 cents per $100 of value for tax year 2025, on top of the county, school district, and other countywide entities.
For comparison, Ventana's tax summary lists the City of Fort Worth's rate for the same period at 67 cents. A house of the same value in Whitestone pays a smaller city line than one in Fort Worth's Skyline Ranch or Ventana. The school portion is the same, since all three are Fort Worth ISD. Rates change every year, so look up the property on the Tarrant Appraisal District site for current numbers.
There's a mandatory homeowners association, Whitestone Ranch Homeowners Association. Whitestone Ranch Phase 4 has its own association too, so confirm which one covers the house, and get the current dues and deed restrictions during your option period.
What kind of homes are in Whitestone Ranch?
Traditional single-family suburban homes from the 2000s and early 2010s, in a mix of one- and two-story plans. At 1,750 to 3,300 square feet, the range runs from a starter-plus home up to a good-size house.
Age is the thing to think about. A house from 2003 is likely on its second roof or due for one, and the original HVAC and water heater may be living on borrowed time. Foundations deserve a look too, as they do anywhere on North Texas clay. None of that is unusual. The City of Benbrook says the city is in Fort Worth ISD. Which elementary a house feeds into depends on the address, so check the FWISD School Finder for the specific home.
What's near Whitestone Ranch?
Benbrook Boulevard has most of what you'll use day to day, a few minutes north. Each of these was open when I checked in fall 2026:

- Paisano's Italian Cafe, 9481 Benbrook Blvd
- Jakes Burgers, 9300 Benbrook Blvd, with a covered patio and a backyard area
- Tacos and Avocados, next door at 9300 Benbrook Blvd
- Black Rifle Coffee, 9001 Benbrook Blvd
- 3 Parrots Taco Shop, 8737 Benbrook Blvd (site)
- Hoffbrau Steak & Grill House, 8501 Benbrook Blvd
- Walmart Supercenter, 8840 Benbrook Blvd

Is Whitestone Ranch a good fit?
- Good fit if you want a Benbrook address and Benbrook's city tax rate in a finished neighborhood with grown trees. Homes sit in the mid-size range, and golfers get a public course down the street.
- Think twice if you want new construction or acreage, or a big amenity center. The homes are 13 to 25 years old, and the newest-looking listings are usually the ones someone already updated.
If new construction is the priority, compare it with Ventana. If you want land, look at Bella Ranch.
